As the popular Russian proverb goes: ‘Russia has two misfortunes: the fools and the roads’ («В России две беды: дураки и дороги»),. The same goes with Armenia but in the case of Armenia, we can add the third misfortune as well - the opposition.
The experience shows that for thirty years the main goal of the oppositions since independence has been to achieve a change of power, that is, the oppositions have struggled for power without any supporting concepts and vision of what to do after coming to power with only one "justification" that they were more patriotic.
In the next phase, when the government and the opposition switched their places, the picture repeated, with the same key rationale that the former rulers, who became oppositionists, were more patriotic than the incumbent government, which used to be the opposition. Unless public consciousness and the rules of the game change, this whirlpool can continue endlessly.
It is obvious that to get approved for a loan for any medium or even small business, one must make a business plan and submit it to the bank with the justification of cost-effectiveness, market research, and forecast results for the next few years. For governing a state even more issues, like security concerns, social, cultural, scientific and educational, foreign and domestic policies, etc. should be considered.
In order to ensure all the above-mentioned activities, political parties must act like think tanks in a certain sense, equipped with various specialists, who must regularly hold congresses, and thematic conferences, cooperate with research institutes and university circles, publish magazines, develop employees, initiate other public and organizational events.
Against this backdrop, these political parties should develop productive daily routines and a good work ethic. In order to be engaged in big politics, that is, state government, one must first do "homework" to try to be established in local self-government bodies, and then submit an application for such a responsible mission.
The year 2018 showed that people from the street can be brought to the government and parliament and try to rule the country based on the simple idea of "rejection". We see how tragic the result can be. However, it does not become a lesson for us, and the existing opposition is again trying to repeat the bitter experience of 2018 and once again, using the "rejection" technology, bring the "new street" to power. "
We do not see creative work that is so necessary and so expected by political parties. We still do not have such a tradition. Maybe we should start with such work and only after that submit an application to the government? It's worth thinking about.
